Valley Legal Aid Fights for Victor

One of our clients, thirty-year-old Victor Chisolm, lives in a group home in the San Fernando Valley. He was meant to comfortably live and take care of himself with a settlement he received after a car accident. But a visit one December afternoon to the mall quickly turned into a nightmare.

He was persuaded to enter a skin care store where his bank information was compromised. That company soon drained Victor's account of $41,000 in "creams and a light-therapy device", plus another $10,000 he sent two employees as "tips." When he asked for a refund, the store stamped his receipt NO REFUNDS.

CBS Los Angeles recently told Victor's story. Valley Legal Aid founder Fred Voigtmann is representing Victor at no cost, and what he describes in this piece is something every family caring for a loved one with a disability should see.

We're also working with another autistic man who was targeted by Bee & Co.

If you or a loved one has been a victim of this type of injustice, please reach out and we would be happy to support you.
